I was amazed when I first saw this work. The oily water in the picture, which was laden with sediments, turned in to something I’d… wash my car with…? well I wouldn’t drink it, I’d miss the chlorine taste.
Our equipment is designed to remove sediments and hydrocarbons. The flow rates and filter specification allow us to adapt it to meet target criteria.
- Hydrocarbon contaminated waters are pumped in to the settlement tank, heavy sediments drop to the bottom.
- Water flows across to an oil water separator, free phase oil floats to the top, water flows under a baffle leaving the free phase oil behind (which may be recovered for re-use).
- Water pumped through sand filter (s) to remove suspended sediments.
- Final phase, water is pumped through a carbon filter to remove the dissolved phase hydrocarbons.
