Recycle Soils – Web-sites for matching donor and receptor sites

If you have surplus soils which can be re-used, or you need clean materials to make up your site levels, then there are two web-sites you should have a look at as your waste might be someone’s resource, and visa versa. Reducing the volume of materials going in to landfill has been a government focus for several years, saving money on soil disposal or purchase has never been out of focus.

CL:AIRE –  http://bit.ly/1ftvPY6

This site contains a wealth of information including a register of materials for donor and receiver sites, and aims to put soil treatment clusters together.  I don’t know how much success they’ve had, I’ll ask and add the response when it arrives.

Resource Efficient Scotlandhttp://bit.ly/1b4jpTL

This Scottish addition ( I don’t think the CL:AIRE site discriminates (yet)) is a Materials Register for more than just soil, and acts like a dating site matching needs to requirements.

Both of these web-sites will only achieve their potential if we all contribute when the opportunity arises.

If you know of other web-sites, or have and feedback on the ones listed above, then please let us know in the comments box below.

This eBook will help you understand the whats, the whys and the hows of waste soil classification in the simplest terms.

  1. I recieved an informal response from CL:AIRE, they have over 370 individuals registered as users and are still regularly asked to link people up. Sounds like success to me!
